If you know anything about me, you know I have big plans. Those plans certainly don’t stop now that I’ve published my third book.

So.

The big question…

What Comes Next?

I’m working on a number of cool projects right now, simply because I don’t know how to stick to one thing for so long. But here’s a short list of what’s to come within the next year.

Billie Dixon #4

Yes, there will be a fourth book! And yes, Billie, Jimmy, Xander, and Prue will graduate at the end of this book. This book will deal with what comes after college and what everyone is going to do with the rest of their lives. Heavy stuff.

Also, after three years, you finally get to meet Xander’s parents. Be excited.

The book, entitled EVERY TIME WE FALL, will release (assuming I don’t fuck up too much) February 14th, but you can already add it to your Goodreads TBR. Yes, it’s releasing on Valentine’s Day. That’s vaguely intentional.

This is the last OFFICIAL book in Billie’s saga, though I’ll let you know now…there will (sometime in the next two years) be short stories and a companion novel from another character’s perspective. I really REALLY can’t tease any more than that.

There will be a cover and synopsis reveal in November!

New Adult Friends-to-Lovers Novella

FOOLS LIKE US is actually my next release, coming to you on October 23rd. I’m working on it right now–or I would be if I weren’t writing this.

This book will be approximately the third of the size of one of Billie’s books, hovering around 30 to 35K words. Still decent-sized, but a quick read.

If you want to read more about it, you can find the cover reveal here or add it to your Goodreads TBR here.

The book is already available for preorder from me directly, but if you want to wait for your favorite retailer, the preorder will be up by the end of August.

Public Appearances

I recently attended my first book convention in Savannah, Georgia, and it was an amazing experience. You can find some of my pictures on my Instagram or use the hashtag #lls2018 to find more from other attending authors and readers, but here are a few more…

The event was small and invigorating, and I hope to expand my public appearances. I’m not yet sure whether I’ll be able to attend LLS next year, but I definitely intend to attend more local conventions and events.

In October, I will talk to a college class at my alma mater. I’m excited to see some of my favorite professors again and have a chance to talk to local college students about books and the world of writing and publishing.

A New Series...or Two

A month ago, I asked the people in my reader group to choose what I should write next. I have quite a few stories bouncing around in my head (hundreds, really), but I gave everyone four options.

Unfortunately, the winner of the poll (the NICE GIRLS Series) is the series I need to research the most. I will spend much of the next year reading comparable books and watching comparable movies and TV shows to really get a feel for the style of story before I delve into the work.

In the meantime, I’ll start on the runner up.

REINA VERDE HIGH is a young adult romance series featuring diverse characters (multi-racial, LGBT+, mentally ill, etc.), and it will be sex positive!

These books will hover around 60 to 70K words long, so a decent bit shorter than Billie’s books, and you can read about the first three books here, here, and here. The first two books should release sometime in 2019.

Better Home Organization

If you’ve seen my recent post on Instagram, you know what a mess my office area is right now. The hubby and I will spend the next couple months organizing it so I have somewhere reliable, safe, and comfortable to work. That should increase my productivity (I can dream, right?) and save some money so I’m not getting delicious coffee drinks from my favorite downtown cafe.

I’ve already written about two books there (here, actually), and as much as I love it, it would be nice to have somewhere a little more permanent and secluded.

Here on the Blog

I will continue to post the chapters of IF WE HAD NO WINTER, the first book in Billie’s saga. Right now, only the first third or so of the book is available on the website, but you can find it on your favorite retailer at any time. For the foreseeable future, it is FREE on all retailers.

If you haven’t snagged it yet…

I will also post the first five chapters (at least) of THE LONGER WE DWELL and WHO WE MIGHT’VE BEEN. Expect those in the near future.

Over the next few months, I’ll also feature a number of cover reveals and author updates in addition to the chapter posts.

xoxo Dana
